Hunt Wheels OpenDev Team | £1000 of bike gear, including Giro Synthe helmet!
Fancy rolling on the latest and greatest wheels from UK upstart Hunt Wheels, resplendent in Mobel kit and Giro Synthe helmet? Of course you do! Read on…
Having turned quite a few heads with their option to provide tubeless-tyres fitted to wheels on delivery, and being ahead of the game to offer the specific 4Season Gravel Disc wheelset, Hunt are planning to continue to stand out from the crowd. Hunt’s new ‘Open Development Program’ will feature shared product development ideas through their website. Hunt have partnered with Giro to offer their iconic Synthe helmets, as well as team clothing by Mobel and wheels of course, to six riders in return for feedback and product suggestions. Applications are open to anyone who rides road, cyclo-cross or gravel from any country in the world. Hunt point out that being fast is not a factor in their team member selection process, instead your willingness to provide good feedback and ideas is what they are looking for. There is promise on the Hunt website of an MTB option in the future too.
Tom Marchment, Hunt Co-owner is obviously motivated by the prospect of further innovation “Like Josh Ibbett our Hunt Brand Manager with his gargantuan effort of 2600 miles in under 10 days to win the epic 2015 Transcontinental Race, we all need to push our riding limits, gain exciting new experiences, explore places by bike we thought we wouldn’t and achieve feats that seemed impossible. We’ve always done things a bit differently here at Hunt and OpenDev is an important new stage in our research and development process. OpenDev allows us to expand our work with riders, discuss and enhance our product ideas and keep moving forwards. OpenDev will help us provide our customers with the lightweight fast wheels they need for their riding styles of today and tomorrow”
There’s an inspiring film edit to accompany the launch produced by EastStudio.co.uk, who also happen to be from Brighton and ride the local Sussex roads, which Hunt say inspired their durability focused performance 4Season range.
Applications are open now at www.HuntBikeWheels.com/OpenDev and close on the 15th February with the team announced mid March.
